Dryer Vent Cleaning:

Hidden Fire Hazards:

There's a hidden danger spot in most homes today. Chances are you don't look at it or even think about it. It's the venting from your clothes dryer. Over time, it fills with lint that sneaks by your dryer's filter. Overheating comes next as the lint builds up. Now you're just a step away from a duct fire.

Sound far-fetched? Here are some sobering facts:

  • The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that over 15,000 clothes dryer related fires occur each year.
  • In 1996, the result was 20 deaths, 320 injuries and over $84 million in property damage, according to the commission.
  • The CPSC reports that the most frequent starting point for these fires was the dryer vent area.

Fortunately, removing this danger from your home is neither complicated, nor expensive. Plus as an added benefit, removing this lint results in a dryer that runs cheaper since it uses less energy to get your clothes dry. Drying times can even be shorter, getting you out of the laundry room faster.

Finally, the dryer itself can last longer since it's not stressed by the higher operating temperatures caused by the lint buildup.

Airduct Cleaning:

Facts about Air Duct Cleaning

  • 50% of all illnesses are either caused, or aggravated by, polluted indoor air. (American College of Allergists).
  • Indoor air can be 70 times more polluted than outdoor air. (U. S. Environmental Protection Agency).
  • One out of six people who suffer from allergies do so because of the direct relationship to fungi and bacteria in air duct systems. (Total Health and Better Health Magazines).
  • Can reduce heating and cooling costs because a clean system operates more efficiently.
  • Cuts maintenance costs because a clean system has fewer breakdowns.

Our Method

Vonderhaar Air duct cleaning service consists of cleaning all your heating vents, cold air returns, around the blower compartment of your furnace and the plenum. After all the cleaning the duct work will also be fogged with an odorless sanitizer that kills any mold, mildew, bacteria, dust mites or any other microbial. The sanitizer also contains a sealant that deters regrowth for up to two years.

The System we use is a hepa filtration system that uses the push pull method of cleaning. We hook the machine up to the main trunk lines in the basement (no long hoses to decrease vac power!). We remove all vent covers and plug them with a piece of foam. This creates a true vacuum within the duct work to optimumize vac power. As the Aircare duct cleaning system is pulling all the dust, dirt and debris from the duct work through your main trunk lines (at 3000 cfms) we open each vent one by one and send a compressor hose down using forced air to lift layers of dust sending it down towards the vacuum, thus creating the push pull method the EPA suggests.

We clean the most neglected, unsanitary part of a home . . . the air duct system!
